This case study explains the social content which Hudson Rouge created around the prop journal used in the 2018 Navigator spot Uncharted Waters. 


To explain the campaign I recut older commercials featuring Matthew McConaughey and incorporated fan-created video but when it came time to reveal the journal I felt it was important to see the physical prop. Luckily the creative director from the broadcast spot still had it in his desk so I brought my camera into the office and shot additional material of the journal. To emphasize that the animations of the journal pages were released to fans through social media we revealed them in a rendered iPhone and then created an animated Facebook page to show the enthusiastic response.

Part of a series for Project Destined, a nonprofit group that administers a real estate based applied youth education program designed to promote financial literacy, leadership development and access to mentorship opportunities yielding increased competitiveness of urban youth.


Across multiple modules, Project Destined scholars gain exposure to all aspects of the real estate investment life cycle while gaining exposure to real industry professionals, analyzing real opportunities and helping to invest real capital into real estate within their own communities.

Wheels Over Wings was a campaign designed to highlight the ways in which travelling in a luxury vehicle like the Lincoln Navigator was actually preferable to air travel. As part of that push Hudson Rouge made The Bet—a branded short film starring Jeff Garlin and Susie Essman from Curb Your Enthusiasm.


Our case study had to explain all this information for Cannes judges in just 125 seconds. Without a budget to shoot any additional material I recut the short film to match our narration, incorporated ripped news footage, captured screen recordings and created motion graphics to tell the story of the campaign.
